You can download the wheels in three kinds of file formats.
"Text" wheel files are in a standard "ASCII text" format. You can view these files by clicking on them at this Web site. Most Web browsers will allow you to "copy and paste" the combinations into a standard word processor program. Players who do not have Lottery Director can access the files in this way for general use.
Text wheel files have a ".TXT" extension.
"Playable" wheel files are directly playable in your Lottery Director Lotto software. Simply download the file into your C:\LDIR\WHEELS directory. Then rename the file as described below on this page. The wheel will be ready immediately for you to play, filter, and print play slips.
Playable wheel files have a ".WHL" extension.
"Combined" wheel files contain both the Text and Playable files in a single compressed "Zip" file. If your Browser does not download the separate files, you will find it easy to download them in this combined file. You will find links to "unzipping" utilities on your Downloads page.
Combined wheel files have a ".ZIP" extension.
Wheels use the standard Lottery Director naming convention. For players who are not familiar with a Lottery Director wheel name, here is how it works.
The wheel name starts with the letters LDW which indicate that it is a Lottery Director Wheel.
The next character is a number from 2 to 9 which indicates that it is a Pick-2, Pick-3, ... Pick-9 wheel.
The next four characters are a number, like 0901 which gives the wheel a unique identity.
The name LDW60901.WHL identifies Pick-6 wheel number 901, in the Playable version.
The name LDW60901.TXT identifies the Text version of the same wheel.
This information is for Lottery Director players to use after downloading a Playable wheel.
If you are not a Lottery Director player, you do not need this information.
In your Lotto program's Wheels Directory, your custom wheels are numbered from 401 to 800. At this Web site, wheels are numbered 901 and up.
We use the "901 and up" numbers here, to avoid overwriting one of your existing wheels when you download a wheel from this site. (If you download a new wheel with the same name as an existing wheel, the new wheel would overwrite the existing one.)
Therefore, after you download one of these wheels, assign it a new wheel name between 401 and 800. The wheel will then appear in your Wheels Directory. It will automatically appear in the proper Wheels Directory, such as your Pick-5 or Pick-6 directory -- ready for you to play immediately.
Use your "Rename a Wheel" selection in Professional Wheeling to give the wheel a new name after you download it.Top
