Suppose you have a set of numbers for your Pick-3 or Pick-4 game. You want to get all of their combinations. How do you wheel that set of numbers?
Here's how to do it with Lottery Director.
In general, there are two ways of choosing your numbers for Pick-3 and Pick-4 play:
- Playing separate sets of numbers into each digit.
- Playing one set of numbers into all digits.
In the first case, you might have some numbers you want to play only in the first digit position. You have different numbers you want to play in the other digit positions. When you wheel your numbers, you want them to 'stay' in their digits. You do not want to 'mix' them between the digit positions.
Let's continue this example. You might also have different quantities of numbers to play for each digit. For example, you might have only two numbers that you want to play in Digit 1, but you might have five numbers for Digit 2, and four numbers for Digit 3 -- or some other amounts.
When you wheel your Pick-3 or Pick-4 numbers in this way, you can choose the numbers you want to wheel in each digit position, simply by clicking your mouse at each digit on your wheeling screen. You select 'how many' numbers you want, and 'which' ones you want.
In the rest of this Tip, we're going to cover the second case above. This is how to take a single set of numbers, and wheel them into all digit positions.
In this Tip, we're covering the case where you have a single set of numbers that you want to play.
For example, you might have 5 or 6 numbers -- or any amount. You just want to wheel them -- and get all of their possible combinations in your Pick-3 or Pick-4 game.
Here's how you can do this in Lottery Director.
Suppose you have six numbers, and you want to wheel them for your Pick-3 game.
- First, enter the numbers into each digit on your wheeling screen. Enter the same numbers into Digit 1, Digit 2, and Digit 3.
- Next, select the kind of wheel you want to make with your numbers: Straight or Boxed.
- Finally, select any filtering you want to use -- or, you can bypass the filtering.
Your final wheel will now have the Straight or Boxed combinations of your 6 numbers.
For example, suppose you wheeled the six numbers 1 2 3 4 5 6. After wheeling them, you'll have this many combinations (without filtering):
- If you're making a Straight wheel, you'll have 216 combinations.
They'll range from 111, 112, 113 ... 664, 665, 666.
- If you're making Boxed wheel, you'll have 56 combinations.
They'll range from 111, 112, 113 ... 556, 566, 666.
