Tip 15:   Making 'Fast Track' Reports

Your Lottery Director  Fast Track Game Manager  has some powerful reporting features.  They are unique -- not found in any other lottery software.

This Tip shows you how to make three kinds of  Fast Track  reports and view them.  The reports covered here are:

Also:  Internet Reports

You can also make  Internet Reports  with your Fast Track program.  It takes just one mouse click.

What This Tip Covers

Making a Report:   This Tip shows you how to make a  Brief Report,  Detailed Report,  and  Combined Report.  (It is very easy.)

Viewing a Report:   This Tip also shows you how to view each report in your built-in Fast Track viewer.  You can view, edit, and print your reports.

You can also use any standard text editor or word processor program to view your reports.

How to Make the Reports

Making your reports is very easy:
  1. Start Lottery Director, and select your Fast Track Game Manager.

  2. Brief or Detailed Report:   First, click:  Select a Game File.

You will see a list of games.  Select a game.

You'll see a summary of the game's wins.  Press  Escape  (or click your Right mouse button)  to return to your Fast Track menu.

Then click either:  Make Brief Report  or  Make Detailed Report.

  3. Combined Report:   To make a  Combined  report, you do not need to select a game.  Just click:  Make Combined Report.
That's all there is to it.

Your Fast Track software creates the report for your game (or multiple Combined games), and stores it.  All of the reports are made automatically, in about 5 seconds.

Setup Options:   You can select the amount of history you want Fast Track to analyze.  You'll find this on Fast Track's  Setup Options  menu.

Otherwise,  Fast Track  will check the last 10 and last 100 draws for each game.

Viewing the 'Brief' and 'Detailed' Reports

Here is how to view these reports with your Fast Track viewer.

When your report is made, Fast Track will show you a message like this:

PRINTOUT COMPLETE

Your printout is complete for the game:   (Name of Game)

Your printout is stored in the file:   C:\LDIR\GMFILES\(Name of File)

Do you want to print it now? (Y or N): >

If you select  Y  (Yes), your Lottery Director Files Editor will open and show your report.

Now you can view the report, edit it, add your own comments to it, and print it.

Viewing the 'Combined' Reports

Here is how to view these reports with your Fast Track viewer.

When your report is made, Fast Track will return you to your main menu.

  1. At your Fast Track main menu, click:  Management Options.

  2. Click:  View Combined Reports.

  3. Now you will see a menu showing each type of game (Pick-5, Pick-6, etc).  Click the kind of game you want to see.  For example, click:  Pick-6 Games.

Your Lottery Director Files Editor will open and show your report.

Now you can view the report, edit it, add your own comments to it, and print it.

Viewing the Reports (in Other Programs)

You can also view your reports in other text editors and word processor programs.

This example is for using the Windows WORDPAD program.

First, you must set up WORDPAD to be your viewer for these reports.  (You will only need to do this once for each type of report.)  Then WORDPAD will launch automatically each time you want to view a report.

  1. At your Windows desktop, open your Windows Explorer.  (See your Windows Help or guidebook if necessary.)

  2. In the Left window, scroll down to your  Ldir  folder:  .

  3. Click on the  +  ('plus') symbol next to the folder.  The  'plus'  symbol should change to a  'minus',  and the folder should expand -- listing more folders.

  4. Click here for an example.

  5. Click on the  Gmfiles  folder.  You'll see the reports in the Right window.

  6. Brief/Detailed Reports:
These have a 4-letter name, like  Azlo  or  Fllo.
Each report is for one game.  (You will probably have other games.)

    Combined Reports:
These have a name starting with the letters 'Games', like  Games05  or  Games06.
Each report contains all of the Pick-5 or Pick-6 games.

  7. Setting Up WORDPAD to View a Report:

Double-click on either type of report in your Right window.
For example:   Double-click on  Azlo  or  Games06.
You should get a new window asking you to identify a program for viewing the report.

    (See the example below.)

Scroll down in the list until you find  WORDPAD.

(Usually it is near the bottom of the list.)

Make sure this box is checked:

'Always use this program to open this file.'

Click on  WORDPAD,  and click  OK.

This should launch WORDPAD and show you the report you selected.

Repeat the steps above for the other type of report.

You only need to set up WORDPAD once for each type of report.

After that, WORDPAD should open automatically each time you double-click on the report in your Windows Explorer.
