Tip 19:   Printing Your Play Slips

This Tip shows you how to print your Play Slips.

Printing Your Play Slips

Your Lottery Director software can print the 'marks' on your play slips.

How to Print Your Play Slips

Before printing play slips, wheel your numbers and store your combinations.  (These are the combinations you want to print on your play slips.)

  • Wheel Your Numbers:

To do this, select your Lottery Director Lotto program, and select your game.

... Note:  If you're just getting started, select your Practice Program.  It's an easy way to see how your software works.

At your games's MAIN screen, go to your PICK menu.  Select 'Wheeling Systems'.

You'll see your Wheels Directory.  Select your wheel.

... Note:  You can sort all your wheels by their wheel types, win characteristics, and combinations.

At your 'Numbers to Wheel' screen, choose the numbers you want to wheel.

... Note:  You can wheel your numbers automatically or manually.

At your 'Filtering Options' menu, choose the kind of filtering you want to use.

... Note:  You can use 'Automatic Filtering', or 'Custom Filtering', or 'No Filtering'.

At your 'Tickets' screen, you see your final combinations.  You can re-filter them, if you like.

When you're happy with your combinations, select 'Store' to store them.

You can print your combinations.  You can also check for winning combinations after the game's drawing.

Now also you can print your play slips.

  • Print Your Play Slips:

Start your Print Play Slips program.   (You can click on its icon, or select it on your starting menu.)

... Help:  You can choose Help in your program.

On your 'Select the Play Slips to Print' menu, choose your game.

... Note:  If you're just getting started, select your Practice Program.  It's an easy way to see how your software works.

After you select the game, you'll see a list of 'Ticket' files for that game.

... Note:  These are the files you made with your wheeling.  They have your combinations, ready to print on play slips.

Select the Tickets you want to print.

Now you see your main menu for printing playslips.

The picture above is just an example.  You can put your own games on the menu at any time.

Select your playslips  --  by clicking on the 'dot' at the left of your game:  Game 1, Game 2, Game 3, Game 4, or Game 5.

... Note:  If you're just getting started, select your Practice Program.  It's an easy way to see how your software works.

    Select your printer.

Load a stack of play slips into your printer.  Make sure they are stacked properly, can move easily into your printer, and can't slip sideways.

Do a 'Test Print'.  This will print one play slip, with all of the marks.

If necessary, readjust the play slips in your printer -- or, select 'Adjust' at the bottom of your screen.  Test the printout again.

When the printout is accurate, select 'Print' to print all of your play slips.

  • Tips for Printing:

Make sure you're using the right game's play slip layout for the combinations you wheeled.

Select the proper game on your menu (Game 1 through Game 5).

... Note:  To get started, try your built-in Practice Program.  It's already set up with some wheeled combinations and a play slip layout file.  It's an easy way to see how your software works.

By far, the biggest reason for a printout being 'off' is from having your play slips not loaded properly into your printer.  Obviously, if they are too far to the left or right, then your printing will be 'off' by that same amount.

Likewise, if the playslips can shift sideways when going into your printer, then the marks will be 'off'.

Always stack the play slips securely at the right place, every time.

  • Play Slip Layouts:

Play Slip Layout files are already available for many popular games.  You can download them at your Lottery Director Web site.

They show where the 'marks' are to printed -- precisely -- horizontally and vertically on the game's play slip.

If a layout file exists for your game's play slip, you can download it.  The Web site has an Automatic Installer, for putting the play slip file into your software -- quickly and easily.

If a layout file does not exist yet, you can make one in your software.  Do it by measuring your play slip and entering its measurements into your software.

If you like, you can send us about 10-20 blank play slips.  We can make the layout file for you and send it to you by e-mail.
